Is it normal to have random chest pains??

For about a year now, I've been having random chest pains. It feels as though someone is gripping my heart and digging their nails into it. When these 'episodes' occur, it always hurts most when I inhale. Idk what this is.

    Don't muck around with this - get yourself to the doctor or to emergency at a hospital.

    I had random chest pains but usually when I was asleep & they'd wake me up or when I was resting, never on exertion, so I didn't think it could be a health problem - WRONG!

    Eventually I had a heart attack and am lucky to be alive.

    You don't say how old you are but get medical advice anyway; if it's not your heart it could be stress or indigestion - both can mimic heart attacks and heart problems can mimic both.

    How about you break with one bad IIN tradition and actually let us know what happens?

    I've had that off and on every now and then, and I've talked to friends who said they get the same thing. We are all in our early twenties and it's happened since I was a teenager. I talked about this to my doctor and they didn't seem concerned, because I am young and healthy in every other sense. This doesn't mean you shouldn't see a doctor but if you're young they probably wont look into it.
