Is it normal to have money but have a shitty car?

I am seeing this guy since september and he wears very nice clothes and works out and even eats healthy. He even took me out to very expensive restaurants twice but he has a 90s car that is in shitty condition. The car does not bother me but it is weird and it does not make sense if he is never out of money and has enough to spend on nice clothes and food why does he not have a better car. I feel he is hiding something.

Maybe that's the reason he has money for other things, BECAUSE he drives a shitty car.

I have a 1995 Thunderbird in addition to my 2002 SVT Focus and that Thunderbird looks to be in somewhat "shitty" shape but she runs like a fuckin' pro. I've been fixing her up, little by little but a little goes a long way with pre-2000 cars. It's almost like, once the decade hit, cars completely changed and the '90s era of cars are the last good cars before they basically became computers on wheels.

There is something to be said about the near-purely mechanical nature of older cars. Like... "shit, that was so easy to fix" or... "I hope my shit passes smog" LOL.

It has the OBD but is an MFI. Nobody believes that my '95 TBird has the OBD but it seriously does.

It is a stock 4.6L. I do not believe that the 1995 model came in anything other than 4.6 and supercharged V6 unless it was limited edition so I could be wrong.

i remembers the super coupes and the turbo coupes too

rode in a turbo coupe and one with a 5.0 maybe late 80s early 90s when they had the digital speedo the turbo was quick but the 5.0 was fuckin shit hot but it had some work on it

yall could prolly sneak a centri blower on that 4.6 and git some juice outta it

or just give it a shota the spray

          fun fun fun

A lot of guys become in love with these type of cars but never have the time to fix them up.

    He could like the car.
He might not care what he drives.
He might not have the money for a new car, cause buying clothes and taking your girl out to a fancy place doesn't mean you are rich. Nice cars cost nice money.
Even a 2nd hand Mercedes, or BMW will set you back 20000 Euros.

Don't read too much into it. Guys are different.

Until very recently I drove a 1989 model car with nearly 250,000 miles on the odometer. Yet I had enough money at the time to buy a brand new car. Why? I liked the car a lot. It was like an old friend and it fit me like an old but comfortable pair of shoes. Having a nice car to impress people was never a priority for me.

I also like to see people's motives for hanging out with me - whether I have a nice car or not. I also like the idea of flying under the radar.

Some of us do not need a fancy car to feel important. An older reliable vehicle is preferable to the planned obsolescent garbage available on the market today.
Personally, I will never have any car with the 'tattletale' computers in them as I don't want the cops or my insurance agency being able to plug into my car and see my driving history.
I like to drive fast and unless I'm ticketed, it's nobody's business what my driving habits are. And don't get me started on ABS braking systems, ugh!

Meh, put some gum in the OBD. That way, they'll ruin their reader tool and be severely confused lol.

You're assuming that it is a mechanic checking your OBD for speeding. 9/10, if a cop or insurance dick is checking your OBD for driving habits, they have as much mechanical experience as a 10 year old girl.

some of us dont need a fancy boat to feel important

yalls drivin history is less than 10 seconds as recorded by new cars but its usually only pulled if yalls involved in a major or fatal accident and a subpoena might be needed dependin on the state

dont crash yalls car at 100 miles an hour and yalls fine ya paranoid bastard

im with yall on the abs though there oughta be a switch to kill it

Oh boy, there you go thinking again. Aren't you the one who insists I live in a trailer in Georgia? OOPs, y'all cain't have it both ways, big feller.
And you are wrong about the 10 seconds; it records for months. It won't be long before it broadcasts to the govmen and gps, too.
Insurance companies can now read it to set your rates based on your driving habits, not your record.

so yalls jealous that I has been and am still outthinkin yall?

I aint the one claimin to have a fancy ole boat while really livin in a trailer in bama not georgia

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event_data_recorder

it were five seconds not 10 and only when yalls gittin in a wreck so lay off the Barbados rum and quit drivin so fuckin fast

insurance has readers but theys voluntary settle the fuck down lyndon larouche

yalls fuckin plates gittin read all over the place anyway so why worry bout fuckin gps?

theres so much fucked up stuff in the world now why worry bout anythin so fuckin trivial?

besides fuel injection and electronic controlled ignition gots it all the fuck over a carb and distributor

Call me a minimalist, but I would try to crank out the most mileage out of that puppy before replacing it. I own an 80's car and I won't buy another until it ceases to work. A car gives status, but that shouldn't matter for who you see him to be.
