Is it normal to have low sympathy?

i don't have much to add here.... i sound like a complete asshole but it isn't really something i can control. say for example, if someone told me their cousin died of cancer i wouldn't feel anything, my moral compass is pretty much smashed into tiny little bits&my ability to feel sympathy is very, VERY impaired.
