Is it normal to have conversations in my head all the time?

i know that it's normal to talk to yourself in your head and out loud when you are thinking about something you have to do, like searching for something, reminding yourself to do something etc.
but i feel like i have these conversations even fights in my thoughts, and it's starting interfere with my life.
is that okay? and what do i do to shut the voices off?

    The voices in my head cannot be turned off. Fortunately, they do not distract me. It is easy to get them interested in the problem at hand.

    Yep, normal :)
    Although, if it's substantially interfering with your life you should probably get some kind of help ..
    Try headphones, works for a lot of people :)
