Is it normal to have been to the hospital 10+ times?

Over the last year I've been suffering from these killer headaches that stem up from my jaw into my face into my skull. I'vebeen to different hospitals and emergency rooms about 14 times over the last 11 months. The STILL wont do ANY tests or prescribe me anything that works. They think I'm trying to score drugs. Right when they see I take methadone the automatically write my symptoms off as 'drug seeking behavior'. My question is, is it normal to be dismissed so thoroughly at a hospital when you are in constant excruciating pain?

Sounds like TMJ. You should see an Orthodonist.

I totally agree that it sound more like a dental issue. Could be almost anything, wisdom teeth, rotted tooth root, inflamed sinus...

I don't know where the post originates from but if it is in the USA, stop going to the ER. Make an appointment with a doctor, dentist or go to a commercial medical clinic in a shopping mall and seek some antibiotics.

If you go to any of these places looking for prescription pain meds instead of antibiotics then the only one you are fooling is yourself.

That's the problem. TONS of shit could be causing this. Stress, a cavity, gingivitis, a sinus/lymph/gum infection. Strep throat was the first culprit, they gave me 3 courses of diff antibiotics. I'm just bothered that they seem to totally ignore someone's pain when they find out they used to do drugs. If they took the 5 fucking minutes to call where I get my methadone script from, they'd see that I've had clean drug tests, every month, for over 6 years. But they don't give a fuck.. Finding a cause and treating it means I won't be back to line their pockets.

I've seen a dentist and an orthodontist specializing in TMD/TMJ they gave me a mouth guard and referred me to a surgeon. The procedure is pretty in tense. They bar ur mouth open and cut the lining of ur gums back to the hinge of ur jaw and then cut and flay open the tendons that control the masticator area. It's like a carpal tunnel relief for ur jaw. They cut open the outer sheath of the nerve and listen the inside of it, then sew it up. I'm really on the fence about it because if they won't give me meds for the pain now, why would they give them to me during my surgical recovery? I'm not getting my face cut open white knuckle. Fuck that noise.

FUCK! I kept being told to go see a orthodontist about my TMJ but, I don't think that I will be going now. Besides, there are exercises for curing your TMJ. O_O

I'm gonna have my methadone doc print and sign my drug test forms and make me copies so I can bring them to the hospital with me the next time this happens. It's bullshit. They make me go back every single time for a Shot of toradol. A NON addictive, non narcotic NSAID (like IBuprophen), that they have to IM into my hip. Works wonders, but they won't prescribe it to me either. So I have to spend 600+$ multiple times a week in hospital bills. It'd be 1400 each time without adjustment and insurance. If this were a normal doctor doing this to me, I'd have a malpractice suit no problem, but because it's an ER it's much more difficult. I don't wanna sue them. But what they are doing is WRONG. It's like putting people in jail that are innocent. I'd rather have ALL criminals free than have one innocent person in jail. I'd rather have all the addicts in the world abuse the system to get high as long as the people that really need it have the access they need. It's gotten so bad here, that every single government subsidized and publicly accessible clinic in tucson has banned the prescription of narcotics outright.

Not normal but you can't blame the hospital for assuming the worst. I agree go to a specialist and stay off drugs which will only make you feel worse. And look into rare conditions people can often find their own diagnoses these days with google.

Not a google diagnosis. A 3 min ER diagnosis with only looking in my mouth with a light. He couldn't see any obvious signs, so (like they usually do) they lump it under the most convenient diagnosis, wether it's right or not. And I suffer the consequences.

Well, ain't the life of a junkie hell? Try ibuprofen, it often works, but I warn you, it won't get you high.

AYFKM? Do u know how much IBuprophen I've taken trying to kill this pain. The goddamn lining of my stomach is wearing off from all the garbage NSAIDs. The only thing u can buy over the counter here. I'm THIS close to driving to Nogales and just buying something T3s or something.
