Is it normal to have baby fever at a young age?

Hi everyone! I know this is a weird question, but I am very curious. I just turned 18 a few months ago. I am a girl and l have been with my fiance for almost 3 years. So, is it normal to feel like you NEED a baby right now? It's overwhelming me, and I think about it all the time! My fiance is all on board sometimes, but he is more apprehensive it seems. I even dream of becoming pregnant! LOL Help please! Thanks in advance!

Not entirely abnormal to want a child, especially when you're in a stable relationship. Do the world and your future child a favour though, and don't have one until you're absolutely financially, emotionally and mentally prepared?

I've seen some girls think that just because they were dumb enough to fall pregnant at 16 that they automatically have the right to call themselves a mother. I don't believe a mother is simply someone who gives birth to a child. I believe a mother is patient, listens, forgives, does not judge, provides for her child financially and with all the love and care a child deserves.

Too many girls going ahead getting pregnant without realising the responsibility that comes along with it. That being said, don't let anyone tell you you're absolutely bat shit crazy for wanting a baby at 18 and that you're not mature enough and that it will be a dumb descision. Nobody on this site knows you so they cannot possibly say.

I would say wait at least a couple more years. Also dont wait too long either. As somebody who has suffered from infertility, i remember a lot of times i was angry at myself i didnt start trying sooner and i wasnt that old when i started trying either, only 29. Luckily for me it was a quick fix. Bottom line, dont let what other people or society tell you when your clock should start ticking like i once did, do what you feel is right. Plenty of younger women do make great parents.

I'll be 20 soon and been dealing with the baby fever since your age, so it's totally normal! I guess it'll happen for us when it happens :) best of luck.

Biologically you are at a perfect age and you are in a stable relationship so it makes sense that your body would pumping those kinds of hormones through. We have a lot more in life to worry about now and plan and prepare for to warrant ignoring those feelings until we are ready.

It's normal at your age. I'm twenty and sometimes I get baby fever like MAD. The thing you have to really think about is whether you can provide a stable, healthy life for any child you choose to give birth to, and whether or not you can handle the CHILD that will come along with that baby.
