Is it normal to have an intense crush on a professor & get called out on it?
So, my behavioral psychology professor is unbelievably gorgeous, intelligent, warm, and amazing. I've had a crush on her since basically day 1 of the class.
Being in the field of psychology, I figured she'd probably notice, which made me super embarrassed (I'm a girl) because I blush and stammer a lot when she talks to me personally.
We have a really small class, only 8 students, and we're all pretty friendly / familiar with each other, but the other day in class she was demonstrating how social pressures can make people feel awkward even when we think it's our own doing. To demonstrate this, she had me stand up and very diplomatically implied I acted nervous around her, and the class was like "Because she obviously has a crush on you" when asked why. I was embarrassed, but not in a "it felt way over the line" kind of way. Just because I like her so much.
Now I have this mixture of extreme nervousness and embarrassment, combined with exhilaration and thrill about it. Is it normal to be in this situation?
As a side note, I'm closer in age to my professor than my classmates.
