Is it normal to have a wrong bra fitting?

So I got roped in to do a bra fitting at Hanes. I'm currently wearing a 36B, but I'm sure I'm actually a 38C because I tried a few on and they felt about right. This crazy old lady fitted me, twice even, and claimed that I'm a 34D. I've tried out sizes, and I can't go past 36 no matter what cup and I'm pretty sure I am not gifted with D's. So she looks at me and says, "that doesn't sound right" and just says I'm a 34C. Hell nuh. How does she have that job if she don't do it right?

Most bras are uncomfortable you should just keep trying different ones until you find the one you can live with.

I don't understand why women apparently are meant to be getting their bra sizes wrong. I think it's just to create the job for the "fitters".

If it's confortable, the band is supportive (the band should be doing most of the work, not the straps), and it's not leaving marks, then it fits, in my book.

Google up "bra size calculator". You will notice that the cup size is proportionally smaller for the band length. There might be a brand of bra that fits your individual shape better than Hanes anyway.

It's normal for people to prefer different fits. Some people like tighter bands and some people like looser bands. I find the 28 or 39 band the most comfortable, but that makes it hard to find my size. 34 and 32 don't really support me.

All bra brands are not the same. My wife has a couple of different sizes and they both fit her well (when she does wear a bra). She has 34DDs, 34DDDs, and even one that is 36DD. Also, do want your boobs completely in the cup or do you want them pushed up and/or together with a cup size or two smaller. Bra size can depend on the look you are trying to achieve.

I think it's normal and completely possible that the person doing the fitting(s) got it wrong and that you're correct. when it comes down to it, you know your body better than anyone else does and, if the 38C feels good to you, then that's the right size for you due to information gathered from previous experiences trying on different bras/also just knowing your own personal preferences for how things fit because you're you. I hope this helps! :)
