Is it normal to have a trippy snake dream?

I recently had a dream that caused the coldest shivers to run down my spine. I was dreaming in a first-person sense and it was very vivid. I was in high school again, but not the one I went to, although it was very similar. It had all of the people I went to high school with, but numerous subtle differences in the building structure. I saw a chubby black and yellow snake on the ground in the classroom, so I reached down to pick it up. When I grabbed it, it tryed to wriggle away from me showing absolutely no aggression. Then its body began to undulate in an attempt to regurgitate something. And out of its mouth came this this sandy like paste that sat in its mouth. It quickly lunged at me opening its mouth like a normal snake, but then the bottom split in half vertically revealing numerous needle sharp teeth that plunged into my forearm. The paste had an instant reaction with my skin that caused the bite to hurt unbearably. I threw the snake across the room and grasped my arm in pain. My arm began to heal and regenerate right before my eyes and the pain quickly subsided. I began looking for the snake so I could kill it. I looked across the room to see a girl pick up the snake out of curiosity. I watched as the snake spit up the paste and everyone watched in curiosity only as the snake quickly turned and lunged at the girls forearm sinking its teeth into her flesh. She let out a painful scream.
Then I woke up.
