Is it normal to have a secret life

So here I am in my second marriage, everything is great -but- I'm about to start a secret life.

I have so many things I want to do that I know I will never do with my wife. So the only way to get this done is to start a secret life.

I've been looking for an apartment or place to buy maybe in my state or another. I'm exploring all my options. I used to own a boat so I am even thinking about buying another and using it for my secret life.

Have you ever wanted a secret life? Or do you think I should leave well enough alone?

I hope you get caught! Lying is a shitty thing to do, don't be a shitty liar.

It's normal in some regards but not when you're married. You need to watch that show Breaking Bad if you haven't already. The main character, Walter White, also had a secret life that he kept from his wife. He could only tell so many lies as far as he could until his luck ran out and the cat was out of the bag.

    • Glad me and my wife go by the Don't Ask/Don't Tell rule.

Neither one of us pushes the other to reveal too much if they don't want too. We believe people are entitled to privacy with their own life. This is to say, your life is your own and what you do with it is nobodies business but your own. If you decide to tell someone about your life its your choice. Nobody owns anyone else and nobody has the right to know every detail about anyone's life if they don't want to tell.

My secret life keeps her happy because she doesn't know and it keeps me happy because I get to enjoy the things I like.

Well alright then! As long as it doesn't interfere with your current life and you aren't do anything your wife would forbid, I guess you're good to go.

Have you considered making a clubhouse under the stairs?

I don't know where you are but where I live the personal property tax stuff would bring your secret life to a halt within the first year unless you plan on having a secret identity to go with the secret life your secret hideout and secret transportation will be on the same tax bill as your shared marital assets so... have fun while it lasts.

    • This is exactly why I was thinking getting a boat again. No property tax, nothing. Just like buying a pair of shoes, nobody knows about it. Keep in it storage when I don't use it and take it out and dock it when I need it. Untraceable and because its at a marina its totally private, only boat owners with pass keys can even get in....I did this for 10 years in my first marriage. Loved it and miss it badly.

Where I live a boat would be on the personal property tax just like a car or airplane would. Personally I don't think a relationship built on deceit is 1 worth staying in but YMMV.

        • So you pay for a tag just like a car.

You don't have to deduct it if you don't want too. So nobody will know. Just go in and pay the fee nobody knows.

BTW, as long as everyone is happy, this is all that matters.

Maybe its different where you are here its all on 1 form. House if you own one car or cars and boat and plane all on the same bill. Its not the tags thats separate it a tax for owning personal property.

            • Is that how it is with YOUR BOAT?

I get separate bills for my home property tax and my car tags.

I got a separate tax bill for my boat, house and cars too. Home tax was divided in summer and winter one in Aug and one in Oct, Car was on my birthday and boat was every few years from the time I purchased it.

In fact if I went into the office and paid before it was due [they sent out the letter] they would not even mail a letter.

              Haha
