Is it normal to have a plugged interchanging nostril not due to sinuses? idk!!

My nose has been very unusual ever since my sister punched it. One of my nostrils I can't breathe through. It switches back and forth between which I can breathe through.it happens usually at night when I am laying down. I went to the doctors for my checkup and I talked to him about it. He checked my nose and said that there was nothing wrong. My nose was fine and breathable then. What is going on?! It is somewhat better I believe but still. Is it normal? Does it happen to anyone else? It isn't plugged because of sinuses.

Did you see a ENT that specializes in sinus trauma? I think you should see another doctor, hopefully, it will be at a time when he can the problem actually happening. Good Luck!

Gravity. Happens to me too in pollen season. At night I switch ears on the pillow until I fall asleep.

You only ever breath out of one nostril at a time.

It is normal for your nose to change the "main nostril" to breath with, more than the other for the moment. This usually happens every thirty minutes or so, but, it should hardly be noticed.
How long has it been since your sister punched you? If it has gotten better during this time it might heal by itself.
But if you can't take it anymore, consider going to another doctor. Sometime certain doctors can spot something that all others have missed.

I hope your nose and you will get better soon!
