Is it normal to have a many interests and not be good at anything?

I hold a lot of interest in various fields such as writing, drawing, music, film, etc, but I'm not particularly good in any of those subjects despite being very passionate about each of them.

I try to practice and hone my skills in each of these fields but don't seem to be making any level of improvement. Can a person so passionate about what he loves be this incompetent?

Should I give up and do something else with my life, or keep trying at it?

That's most of us, OP. Keep doing what you enjoy

Maybe choose one thing and concentrate on getting better at that instead of trying to be good at many things.

    Stay on it.
Every skill is mostly practice, and if you're kind of young you just didn't have enough time yet. From great artists you only see the stuff that made them famous but you never see the crap they started with. All the stuff that didn't work and they threw away.
Sometimes it's hard to notice your skills improving because it happens so slowly. But every mistake you make is a lesson you've learned.

Keep doing it as a hobby, but find a different career unless you improve vastly!

Takes discipline to improve and become skilled. Motivations come and go. There will always come a point, no matter what you pursue, where things no longer become fun or effortless.

What you do beyond that point is what your self-esteem is made of.

Maybe you're just a total scatterbrain like me. I want to do so many things but get sidetracked very easily. It's really annoying.
