I hate the term "Troll" and I hate the use of it. Unless they specify, I think everyone should be taken seriously and not shrugged off as a so-called "troll". It's just inconsiderate.
This is how alot of true trolls get taken seriously and honest people get shrugged off when they need help: no benefit of the doubt for everybody.
Let's get this straight:
Troll is a name given to assholes who deliberately choose to treat other people like shit because they get a rise out of it. That is, inarguably, a horrible and mean thing to do. There is no reason not to cast out those people. We should look down on them. There is no reason to give them undue respect. They are assholes. If you are defending such a person, you're defending a bully.
Sometimes the word gets thrown around without due consideration, but I think this doesn't happen anywhere near as often as a good, appropriate useage of the term.
Troll
1. A large, green humanoid creature with immense strength, quickness and toughness, but weak mental abilities. Quickly heals wounds unless fire or acid is applied.
2. Assholes who deliberately choose to treat other people like shit because they get a rise out of it.
Unfortunately, giantbane weapons only work on the former type of creature.
