Is it normal to hate getting jealous?

I like to think of myself as someone who doesn't get jealous. In a way, yeah Im not the jealous type. But there has been two instances that have gotten to me and made me jealous. I hate it. It really gets in the way of everything else. How can I get rid of it? It literally consumes me during those times. I cannot act normal when I'm feeling a little bit of jealousy especially that I generally don't have a filter. Whatever Im feeling it shows. So when I'm feeling jealous, it shows and it's embarrassing. So how do you get rid of it? any techniques I can use?

I've been fighting jealousy for a long time now. In my late teens/early 20s I would get jealous very easily and it would always lead to me doing something I would regret. I felt like it was a selfish emotion and ever since I've tried to rid myself of it as much as possible.

In my experience I think there are going to be incidents throughout your life where you're going to naturally feel jealousy I think it's quite unavoidable. I think you can lessen its frequency by being your own person and not comparing yourself to others. This is tricky in the modern world if you use social media because people are basically showing off their highlights on there. Remember that everyone has highs and lows.

When you do feel jealousy coming on I think it's important to cut it off before it consumes you. Remind yourself of what you have, your qualities and try to be happy for someone else instead of competitive. I think competitive people are more prone to jealousy.

And, just think about something else. Use whatever form of distraction helps. Don't dwell on things. Let them go. Keep your mind mentally stimulated through other things, positive things that you enjoy doing. Or simply go out and exorcise the jealousy by acquiring what it is you're jealous of, if that's possible.

I hope this helps somewhat. I know there's some great self help articles online that have helped me in challenging times.

Yes, jealousy is an extreme sense of care and fear of loss, most people dislike experienceing or feeling jealous due to the fact almost everyone confuses jealousy with lack of trust, when in fact they are very different, you are allowed to feel jealous, provided you prove loyalty and trust.....remember, jealously is felt due to fear of losing someone or something you hold dear or care greatly about...or someone something that makes you feel good or has expressed a genuine honest care love toward you...it's hard to find, so, we all tend to fear losing it...and jealousy is our way of uncontrollabley expressing that feeling before one is aware that's whatso going on, we are creatures, animals, and we and impulsively on instincts, yet, we are never taught or shown how to interpret them, hence many of today's issues in the world...a severe lack of instinctual understanding...hope that helps....the key is to slow down and process why you truly feel a certain way, ..and , through experience, jealously is felt and compulsively expressed why we unknowingly sense a threat to our current source of joy, or when we since or feel there's a deception taking place, which is usually the cas3, but it's often far less severe than we feel it is....seek the truth, within yourself, and in the cause of the feelibg....this is my field of research and personal development and I've had a great deal of positive outcomes through my findings and applied knowledge learned...and I'm craving to share..hope it helped....I'm here for discussion or explaination...
In short, we know things before we truly know , we as humans have been out of sync with our instinct for to long, and my book I'm writing, which will be free to all, is in an effort to change the perspective of the world to create a global civilization of good positive happy people ..and eliminate greed and selfishNess from the normal mindset...book will be published in 3yrs, and it'll be distributed free of charge across all media platforms,
Look for it , and I promise it'll, at minimum, inspire you to consider alternatives to the everyday experience and expectations
Thx... ;) smile daily and celebrate at least one little victory every day...
When you have a ha4d time thinking of a little victory, use this, as soon as you wake up, say thank you, to yiurself, and mean it,,Cuz, regardless of your age, you've done what you had to do to make it this far, and life, in general (nature),..is a challeng3, so, be proud and happy with yourself, ...and jealously is normal, and a different emotion than truat...
Believe me, my marriage went through many rocky roads, but we've (thanks to my wife) and my research began to change our perspective, and we're better than ever, so much so that ,in the past I had to keep own her whereabouts, and get aggressively and angrily jealous...but now, today, she can go out with her ex boyfriends, or the bar, and she is honest so much so, that if and one time when she tells me the truth, I cannot get mad at her for what she did, Cuz the truth is hard to confess, and it takes courage, and trust, which I respect more than a lapse on judgment or a violation of vows..(in a strangers eyes)..now, we think slowly and speak slower and only in the first person carefully avoiding any assumptions or accusations and truly communication based on the facts and trust in yruth....my goal is to share my lessons learned the ha4d way with the younger generations as to give a boost on understanding the foreign language ofeveryone forgot birth gift...the most important key and tool, our instincts..if you care to get you name in the book as a couple writer, I'd like to offer a person l growth project for you, strictly voulentarily ....my screen name below..msg me and Ill give you the proof everyone needs to believe in the value of self education through real life experience without interference...thanks..have a great day.
If you've read this entire post, you've already got the most important attribute of all, patience...all good things take time, bad happens way we quicker and more frequently, but when patience is had, the good , tho occurring far less frequently, are way way more potent and beneficial and longer lasting...we, sadly, live in a society that is hook on instant gratification or rests....high speed Internet, fast food, fast cars, and this mind set has corrupted then generations starting with the great depression...but, if you wanna experience the value of your true self, let me know, and remember, your alive, in this universe, and there's a reason, big or small, the importance is just a valuable, since the smallest part of a machine can make it function or, when missing, that same small price, though timy, can cause the machine to fail or break....I'm, personally consider myself a batteryof sorts, here to recharge as many as I can with their true potential....
