Is it normal to hate christmas time?

I hate having to see my annoying family that i swear only comes over to get presents. I hate seeing my little cousins destroy my shit and act like it's the funniest thing in the world. I hate how my mother screams at me on Christmas day. I just hate almost everything about it. The only part I do like is getting to see my dad.

Is this normal?

    Or,
    Or,
    ORRRR,

You could just not do any of that, and just see your dad.

Yeah, but sometimes obligations are obligations. Depending on the situation, ya know?

Like...if you're like me and don't give a flying fuck about the consequences of not going to a POS relatives house (I've ruined Xmas. Even though it's the day after Xmas. Go figure), then sure. I'm sure many adults come across that situation.

But younger people, for example, might not have so much freedom to avoid shitty family situations. Or adults, too, depending on the social dynamic, the consequences of not doing something may far outweigh the benefits of doing what they actual prefer.

I suspect OP falls into the former.

I guess you make a valid point.

Sometimes I feel bad because I do not get invited to family gatherings. That is one benefit of living a transgender life.

But anyways, I hear stories about how families act AND I think of what mine sometimes acts like and realize I may not be missing anything.

Your responsible for your misery. If you don’t like it you have a right not allow it in your house if they don’t like it that’s their problem. that is if your an adult. If your a kid all I can say then is suck it up. Your a kid and no one cares what you think.

That's the thing. You choose your friends, not your family. And if you can put up with all that shit, you can put up with other shit that comes up later on in life. Just hang in there and focus on the ones you do like to see.

  • Normal dude. My younger cousins are spoiled selfish little cunts that think the world revolves around them. Seeing them once a year is enough. Pretty sure the oldest one will grow up to be a fat school bully...

Pretty normal, I have same issues except for the dad part. He's part of the commotion and chaos.

You don't HAVE to do any of that.
