Is it normal to hate canada after living here more than half my life here?

I've encountered so much class bias, ethnic stereotyping, racial discrimination, etc that I wondered if this was normal in Canada to feel this way. I have spent more than half my life here in this country. Why is this? I'm a 44 year old woman, originally from Chile.

Really? To be perfectly honest, I always thought Canada would hold a much higher standard, however, this could be due to the area in which you're living in.

    Every region is different.

Canada is the best place to live on the planet. But it just so happens thereare a-holes everywhere. We live in a society where respect and tolerence should be of outmost importance. Sorry you had to go through some difficult times.

someones a liberal brainwashed, freak. The only somewhat redeeming quality about canada is the healthcare, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was some fine print that made certain medical conditions more costly than promised. I lived there for many years and am glad i moved out.

Well, I guess my nomdeguere says it all! And most Canadians will have to look that one up..........Loma....The country has no personality, other then saying we are not American.......WTF. look it's simple really. The revolutionary war, two ways of thinking. 1. Hey king, shove your tax, and your rules! These are the Americans, live free or die. 2. OMG, I am sorry king, here let me bend over again, please forgive me, sire, ram me some more. These are the Canadians, they never stand up for themselves against the government. That's why here in Ontario, they have the highest hydro rates in NA. Not to mention High tax on every facet of life, free Healthcare, no, and wait time are horrid, hundreds do die every year waiting for a specialist here in Ontario, and yes I am heading back south, as absolutely fast as humanely possible! Because Canada is "The Great Lie"

Yes, Canada has more downsides than upsides.
Upside #1 healthcare (but no dental and visual health care)
    Upside #2 welfare
Upside #3 lower crime rate compared to the US
Downside #1 people are either racist or ignorant. This is what I encountered.
Downside #2 Poor justice system. Although Canada might be safer than the US, it gives you no right to defend your own self and property. You get charged if you use force to defend yourself or your property.
Downside #3 Weather. Canada is an American freezer. This is what makes the country unlivable. Everyone lives close to the US border.
Downside #4 Boredom. I swear, Canada is the most boring country on the planet. You can't go anywhere to enjoy life except hockey, alcohol and tobacco. People just repeat what they always do.
Downside #5 Dumb-ass government. All governments suck no matter what party it is. They don't seem to care about our concern, instead, they are keeping it this way. Gas price, home prices, laws, they just don't give a shit about those things. Gas price and home price are overly high. Some laws are non-sense at all.
Downside #6 Feminine shithole. Funny that they said Canada is a great place to be a woman, but they forgot to mention Canada is not a great place to be a man. Female have much more freedom than male.

Nope, I'm proud to be Canadian, and I wasn't born here either. Seems to me, that for some reason you had bad experiences and just couldn't fit in. it happens, and maybe it's not a place for you, but I've lived in a few other countries and never seen such a great example of multiculturalism and religious/racial acceptance, as I see here every day.

Canada is the greatest country in the world! :)

I would join the other users because I have never heard of Canada being that kind of country. I have a cousin who lives there with her family and they love it. They are black.

It's sad that it has turned out this way for you.

I've been living in Canada since 2013 and this is my analysis:
i'm living in a battle field between Canadian woman and Canadian men, and in the middle, immigrants and the Inuits. The hate us too, because they hate everything, everybody.Except the pets.(Almost surrealistic).. They are fighting for ...no reason? and in the end of this war,i can see a land full of old, decrepit and embittered persons and no kids, at all.So sad!! Canada is one of the saddest countries in the world.Good luck, Canadiens!!.I hope to leave you soon. And never ever comeback.

Really? That's somewhat surprising, considering that many people claim that it is a good place to live if you want to avoid that.

People will be people. Not everywhere you go will be perfect and safe. Maybe, it is the province/area where you live that is the problem. I doubt everyone in Canada is like that.

Again, not everyone does this, but many people don't like immigrants moving to their country, taking jobs, and changing the culture. It could be this.

Wait I thought socialized medicine was the answer to the world's ills. Might they be wrong as you wait six months for surgery? No death panels, you're just imagining things...

No, I've lived in Canada all my life and I've never experienced any of those things before. I've never even heard of anyone being racist or discriminating where I live. Majority of people are pretty accepting.

I've heard some bad things about Canada too. But I've never been there so I can't judge.
