Is it normal to hate america?

I don't see how anyone would consider living there, it's an absolute shithole. Almost everyone is obese, school shootings happen every day, ghettos in almost all cities, people can't point-out their own country on a world map, etc. Also, almost all the damn problems in the world nowadays can be blamed on America.

  • "A shithole"? I love living here, and wouldn't have chosen to be born anyplace else. I'm not obese, but being in TX, yeah, a lot of people are fat.

They just don't know much better and/or don't give a hoot, but that only makes me look thinner.

People who blame most problems on Americans just want a scapegoat. Do you have any idea how many opportunities the USA has provided to legal immigrants? You know, the decent people who need to escape actual shitholes.

Having ghettos is nothing unusual for anyplace. Everywhere has an underbelly. The school shootings are an issue we need to sort out, but my country is awesome.

I love that I can legally own guns to protect myself if I choose.

I'm American, and I totally understand the need to defend our country to the foreigners who relentlessly hate us. However, I'm also well aware of how so many things in our country has turned to shit, especially since that orange jerkass took the controls. America is truthfully not the great place it once was. But, there are definitely worse countries to be in.

The US is like everywhere else. There are good things and bad.
Maybe you've only noticed the bad...

I've been to the US and I enjoyed myself and I liked my trip.
Still prefer my life in Europe, but I wouldn't bash the US like that. You can't judge a massive country over one bad experience you've had in New York for a week...

A week is not enough time to explore even half of what a massive city like that has to offer. Partly because you'll be stuck in traffic, but whatever...

Wow you are uneducated. I mean the shooting part alone is so untrue its almost funny. Anyways your reasons for hating amrrica are not normal because they are false facts. Now if you have genuine opinions of your own like how you think its a shit hole now that can be justified and assumed normal cause its your opinion. However try to learn proper facts first.

I love the US. I am European but I've been visiting the US once a year since I was very young. I also spent a whole high school year there.
It is true: the US have a lot of problems, but which country doesn't?
I love the passion that strive people to do more everyday (the American dream) and the acceptance of diversity that is there (Europe is very old style in this).
I don't like that people are a lot focused on themselves and tend to ignore others sometimes (the whole "Hello/How are you but not waiting for an actual answer" thing) , but maybe that's a good thing sometimes.
I really miss my American days and I hope I can come back soon!

  • Have you ever met an American that can't find his own country on a map? I've lived in the USA my entire life and I've never met one that I know of. If I did, I would ostracize the dude until he learned where in the hell his own country was.

The old "half of all American high school graduates can't find the united states on a world map" thing is a total fallacy. This bullshit tale came about when a study was done at one single school in south Texas where most students were immigrants or illegal immigrants and some didn't even speak English. Another study, years later, was done in a school in new York city that had embarrassingly low act scores and almost every student could find the great 48 on a blank world map with ease.

      • While obamacare may be a little better for some, it made healthcare in America worse overall. Example:
My sister, mother of two, could afford healthcare before obamacare. Now, her monthly premium has nearly doubled, she has to pay $3000 per year before her insurance pays a dime of anything other than the sniffles. She used to pay absolutely nothing for the vast majority of prescriptions, and now has to pay at least half if not the entire price. She can no longer afford insurance and does not qualify for obamacare. All that socialized healthcare does is steal from the poor and give to the dirt poor.

Okay I get the reasons behind your feelings and despite the fact my father is American I do have a fairly low opinion of America at this point.

For a couple of reasons, first being school shootings, in the UK and Australia we have had school shootings so to combat it the governments changed the laws so that only select people could carry a gun, in the UK most police officers do not carry guns, you need special training. However in America instead of the laws being changed your schools are giving out bullet proofing and teaching kids nursery rhymes on what to do in case of one. This is not okay America, you want to quote a document written Two hundred years ago and hold that in higher value than your children's lives? WTF?!

Second being Trump. Just why? Why do did you do this American? Why?

Third, America claims to be great and powerful yet you are 17th in Educational performance. Maybe if you kids didnt have to go to school worried they aren't coming home they would perform better. Or if poverty, bullying and intolerance aren't so high more children would stand a chance in your system.

Forth, Suicide is the 10th most common reason of death in America. Heart disease is first diabetes is seventh.

Fifth, You quote a document that was written Two hundred years ago, a document younger than most the countries in the world. And cling to what it says. Two hundred years ago things were different, you needed it than it's not the same now and things need to change.

Finally, America is 12th in obesity, just pointing out that the 11 countries before you have less than half the population so although the statistics are lower the overall amount of obese people is still right up there. You are ranked the highest for weaponry in the world.

For a country in it's infancy America is floundering. Americas not great. It's a country allowing innocence to die before it's had a chance to live and offering no protection. I do not hate America or Americans because not every person is responsible for this. Nor is everyone a Trump supporter, obese or a gun nut but the point is America has to change. And until it does people will hate America, hell Americans will hate America because it's being let down. Because the country is not willing to change to protect it's people.

Ok look man we have some 300mill or 3 mill i dont remember it's a 3 and a mill though guns here in the u.s and that doesn't even bring up the ammo. We have 2 many guns legal and illegal banning guns isnt gonna work. From the very beggining its been part of our rights as a citizen. And its a reason why many of us never leave. We like firearms. Besides the whole fact that if our right was revoked it would be a whole on civil war. Most p
Our soldiers shoot. Our cops. There friends there families and so on. All the way up the official tree. Its not gonna be a simple process. Besides following that method here would be a terrible idea. Don't bother, this jackass believes whatever he sees on TV. Totally disregards the fact that one is less likely to be shot today than 25 years ago. Or that if you compare side by side graphs of US gun homicides with Australia's since their ban, you'll notice a similar decrease in the rate of Gun homicides even without a ban. Plus they ignore the fact that other countries have higher rates of violent crimes than the US.
If other countries had armed citizens they probably wouldn't have to call us for help when the get over run by Nazis or the Russians.

I am a bloody American by birth. My father was a United States Marine. I don't have to see what is on TV those statistics get updated yearly and can be found online. You have schools teaching nursery rhymes about what to do in case of a gun attack. What the hell more proof do you idiots need to know stuff has to change. I can assure you if you had to pass an IQ test and emotional stability test before you were given access to a gun there would be a hell of a lot less guns in America. If you look at the statistics London has more crime than almost every state capital in the US. We've had 74 murders on London streets this year. The difference is we don't openly arm our children.

And mate before you go pulling the old "we saved your ass in ww2" spiel just saying Japan helped with that. If they hadn't bombed pearl harbour America wouldn't have gotten involved.

            You're an idiot.
If you do you're research and the math you will discover that the likelihood of getting killed in a school shooting in the US is about the same as being diagnosed with mad cow during one's lifetime here or being dragged away in a flood. Of course there are those who want to over-react. So if you have one school in over 100,000 schools teaching nursery rhymes, you take it as the norm? If you are male, you are more likely to be diagnosed with penile cancer than be killed in a mass shooting. In the US you are almost 10 times more likely to be killed by a teen driver than by a mass shooter.
We don't openly arm our children either so I don't know wtf you're talking about. But please, carry on with your histrionics.

Churchill and Roosevelt were meeting before the attack on Pearl Harbor.

It's true, you can't be too nice and decent if you're gonna successfully run the top country in the world.

I really wish Canada had a right to bear arms in the Constitution. That shit for brains Prime Minister Trudeau would have been assisinated by now. He is making Canada a shit hole by giving away our tax dollard to Islamic countries that want us dead and allowing thousands of illegal immigrants to just walk across the border into Canada from the U.S.

People are still debating on when WW3 is going to be. Many people thought it was beginning after the 9/11 attacks, and there have been several other times since. Others don't think that there will ever be the enormously feared nuclear catastrophe in which so many people have envisioned WW3 to be.

Unfortunately over half of Americans don't like America either but that's where they were born...

I'm full blooded American, but I also am disliking our country more than previously before. America isn't the great place it once was. There are more unpleasant hateful Americans around now than ever before, but all I can do is try to be one of the decent Americans and not allow myself to be swooped up into that nasty orange whirlwind.

There is no perfect country. Each and every one has their own problems. The US may be a circus show, and all the other countries it’s atendees, but somehow we are still surviving.

I’d say the situation youre in is a win for you. You get to live in a place not run by a ticking time-orange, and also get to experience the beauty of the US (if you choose the right DAMN city), without having to deal with the day-to-day american problems.

      Ticking time orange 😂
But yeh, it's true, America and Americans have become uglier bad spirited people since the ticking time orange grabbed ahold of the reigns in D.C., but me being American too, I still have to stand by my fellow American citizens and make the best of what we still have
