Is it normal to hate 1 direction with a burning passion and tell every girl that posts Facebook or any social media about how they love them and want to marry them, that they never will? Like I'm not even kidding I just want to crush their dreams it's that annoying. And I'm genuinely a very very nice person. So... Yeah..
I'd say normal. You're being realistic and they're going through a phase. Most likely they --- and society --- will forget about 1D by the time they enter college (or get married to an actual, achievable person).
It won't be long before they go the way of third-rate reunion tours like other boy bands anyway...

I too used to hate music artists because of the ridiculous/obsessive fan following. Later I realized some of these songs by 1D, Swift, Bieber -- are actually catchy and not bad, even though it's disposable music.
Couldn't tell who they were if I heard um' but I assume they sound like the rest of no talents that air. No, perfectly normal just like my inability to tolerate douches who are twilight fans, god I wanna' punch um!
I think you hate them because they are popular. I think everyone does it at some point. People talk about something so much that you just go against it purely to be different and to see how people who like them react. I'm not saying you should like them, they just shouldn't be a concern to you in any way if you don't.
so do I. I would happily line them up against a wall and shoot them all in the lower abdomen so I could laugh at them while they die a slow painful death
