Is it normal to get turned on when having arguments?

This may sound weird, but it started in primary school. Whenever I got into a heated argument or debate with some guy (and it only worked if it's a guy) I get all excited, my heart beats faster and in some cases, I even start to blush. At first I didn't notice until I started High school and my body actually started to react more strongly whenever I had heated arguments or debates about the most stupidest things.

Is it the fact that I also have a thing for smart guys and so then I find it a turn on when I know we can have a lasting conversation that we both know enough about a certain topic to have our own opinions on.

Or am I a masochist<--(I also have other weird turn ons that involve minor masochist acts) since I enjoy it even more when they prove me wrong and leave me feeling like an idiot.

But first of all. Is it even normal?
Because isn't going as far as getting wet and excited from a heated argument you just lost isn't normal is it?

The real question is...is this dom posting about ItDuz or ItDuz posting about dom?

But yes, very very normal. Intellectual stimulation is a definite turn on for the literate.

    • I would assume it's neither and a female that clearly seen me and Dom's discussion and now wants a threesome. It's the only possible scenario. :/

Sure, it's normal. It's where make up sex comes from. Your physiological responses to an argument (i.e. racing heart, blood rushing to your face) are the same ones that take place during arousal, so it's only natural that you'd feel turned on. Also, as you mentioned, you're attracted to intelligent men, and you may enjoy the challenge that these arguments present (which is why you can be aroused even when you lose).

Where do you think the cinematic cliché of argument turned to passion comes from?

Sometimes an argument can be cathartic, if something has been brewing for a while but not talked about getting it out in the open can be a strange mix of anger, relief and attraction, occasional arguments are healthy it's when neither of you can be bothered to argue that you should be worried.

But arguing in a relationship is different to arguing with some guy/girl. I've noticed something similar once in 6th form. There was a friend of a friend who disagreed with me on everything from human rights down to films.

All of our disagreements were more friendly debates we enjoyed the intellectual challenge and always laughed about it after. One day though I slated her favorite band without realising they were, she really took against it and it turned into a full blown argument ( yet we were able to debate human rights calmly)

I remember that as she was shouting thinking to myself " why am I suddenly finding you so beatiful and how come I want to have sex with you right now"
