Is it normal to get really angry if someone makes a false accusation.....

and causes you to feel deeply humliated? This happened to me a few days ago and I was unable to control my feelings of anger and depression. Is this a normal reaction? How should a person feel when being lied about and humiliated? How could I have handled the situation to avoid becoming so upset and angry? I did not become loud or use profanity at all. But I felt steam must be coming from my ears I was so mad! Thoughts, please? I do not become extremely angry too often, but when I do - I really get HOT. My father had a very bad temper.

There are VERY few things in this world that can make me mad. False accusations is on the very top of that short list, ESPECIALLY when the person actually believes it.

It's normal. Someone at work accused me of being racist because I rejected her. She yelled and made a scene. I felt so embarrassed. The best thing you can do is walk away from that person.

    • Alas, some people seem ever ready to play that card! It is really sad they have such a low opinion of themselves. Yes, I bet you did feel embarassed by that! I would've too. My sympathies, friend.

I don't handle liars in a very professional or adult manner. If there is specific buttons a person can press to make me flip it is lying, and disrespect. I would have probably stopped the person forcefully.

My reaction is by far the worst one to take though and I know this!

    • The person was a female, plus she did it behind my back, so no way to stop her. I have never laid forceful hands on a female, though there have been times I felt like murdering my mother. I'm really glad she finally managed to make it to the other-side without my assistence!!

HaHa! Must be a wonderful mother!

As far as the person being a woman, that really puts a damper on things! I would still confront her about it, and bring to light what a fake she is!

It's totally normal. False accusations are such a surprise %110 of the time, that you don't even know how to defend it. My husband was fired a month ago over equipment that was damaged on the job...we were on our 5th Anniversary trip 600 miles away. There was no way it happened. He was fired over the phone the first day he was back to work. The accusations were so outrageous he didn't know what do say and the manager on the phone (who knew he was on vacation) wouldn't let him talk. He said drop off the semi and leave the company phone in it. Like a couple of zombies, we did just that. It's been a little over a month and now all the facts are coming out woodwork. Like they fired him because a family member needed seasonal work for the summer and wanted his truck back. And they are continuing to tell his potential employers (calling for a reference) about the incidents that happened and STILL blaming it on him. He can't get a job. His career as a truck driver is over! Even though there is nothing on his MVR. Perfect driving record since he got his license for 13 years. There are tons more details that is just one nail in the coffin after another. NOW my husband is pissed. In 7 yeas I've known him I've never seen him angry. It's scary as shit! Within a day of finding out all this he's already got a lawyer. Sorry to bore you with my sob story, but...Yes! It's normal!
