Is it normal to get itchy spots 1-3 days after eating dairy?

I always people can be lactose intolerant meaning if they eat dairy they get stomach pain/diarrhea ect. But I think Im allergic in a different way, I noticed Ive been getting itchy pimples around my mouth and sometimes my cheek which don't feel like a "normal" pimple. I have been doing food elimination and Im pretty sure its dairy. If I eat cheese or milk or ice cream within 1-3 days I get these pop up and they get a clear fluid sometimes. Very itchy...these skin doctors claim what you eat isnt related to breaking out but I say it can be! Its a relatively new thing in the past year it developed. Is it normal to get a random dairy allergy at my age (25)? I was allergic to milk as a baby but grew out of it.

  • I was allergic to dairy as a baby and grew out of it too, thankfully. I would be miserable without ice cream, cheese, chocolate and milk in my life. I think what you are describing is definetly some sort of allergy or reaction to dairy, especially if it gets better when you eliminate the dairy. I had this friend in highschool who used to get sinus and sneezing fits if she ate anything with dairy in it. Allergies present themselves in different ways. You're lucky your allergies are food triggered and not just an inevitable fate for you. I suffered from "childhood" eczema when I was a toddler, I'm 19 now, and still suffering from it. Its the worst ever and its triggered by things I can't really change like weather, mostly.

I'm sure it's normal if you're allergic to dairy in that sort of way.
