Is it normal for users here to eventually receive an unwanted or not-so-nice private message? I suppose the "block" feature exists for a reason. Have you had to use it?

It's bound to happen. I once tore the OP of a controversial post a brand new one and the immature brat had the nerve to attempt at insulting me in the PM. Two messages in difficult-to-read English dialect. I blocked her. Not because the messages in themselves bothered me, but because this person was unsound and I didn't want to keep getting bothered.
That's just life. Sometimes, you gotta be around people you don't exactly like.
I've never been harassed but I have recieved unwanted sexual advances and one word "hello" messages. I block the sexual ones and ignore the hellos from people I don't know.
I've had quite a few. Some because the don't like my bluntness. Some random sexual ones. I just block and ignore, or if bad enough, report.
