Is it normal to get annoyed when someone tells you you look like your mom ?

Is it normal to hate it when someone tells you are like your mom (a minature mom), like you are exactly like your mom ?, especially if your mother isn't cool nor pretty , it's kinda like a hidden insult or something?, (don't get me wrong , you love your mother but hate to look and be like her !)

It really annoys me too I get it all the time and my mum is so out of shape and doesn't look after herself and I do! How could we look that similar?? I'm sure it's a compliment to her but not to me.

I love my mother, but she is one ugly broad! LOL. I never get that, though, because I'm an exotic-featured, dark haired, porcelain-skinned woman and my mom is a blonde Californian. xD

People always tell me I look like my mom. Usually people say that as a compliment so I just take as one

Daughters almost always look prettier than their moms so i understand why youd feel that way.

I don't get annoyed. I do sort of look like her & people say it's a compliment. I don't think she'd be called a milf though, she's 52 and married lol

      • I suppose but you wouldn't want to hear your friends talk about how they'd go down on her

I don't think most people like being compared to a parent. My sister and I do it to each other all the time. But it doesn't necessarily mean they're trying to insult you, she may have some good qualities that you've picked up.
