Is it normal to get angry at people who are critizicing your celeb crush?

I have a tremendous crush on Tom Hanks .(the guy who starred in "Forrest Gump", "Philadelphia", "Big", "Money Pit", "Saving Private Ryan", "Turner Hooch" and "Captain Phillips") well when he was younger (I think from year 1980 until 1996) .. My friends had a good laugh about it and said that I am such a freak for having a crush on an old, not~so~hottie guy ... I told them that I had a crush on him when he was younger .. "He WAS" ... and so I told them that even so, okay he is not hot today but he has a heart of gold ... and I think he was handsome when he was younger ... *especially in philadelphia movie* ... is it normal to be mad at
them with what they only knew is to bully and insult me for it?

And I'm not changing my mind!
Tom Hanks is my favorite actor ...

    I think that you are not so mad that they criticize tom hanks but more so they don't respect your opinion. A true friend would be supportive of your feelings. My friends know that I like skinny nerdy guys like Matthew Gray Gubler from Criminal Minds and when they see someone I may be attracted to they point him out to me.They don't find him attractive at all but they want me to be happy...

    I believe Tom is one of if not the finest actor in the business today, but hardly worthy of a crush.
    But vive la difference, as they say in froggie land.
