Is it normal to gain a lot of weight in a short period of time?

Gained a lot of weight in less than 6 months. Almost 15 lbs with the same life style and same eating habits. Started noticing it more when my belly started to bulge out of my jeans and eventually sent me shopping for a bigger size. Not sure if this weight will shed off? or it's here to stay.

Was wondering if anyone else went through such transition?

It's ok will lose it all eventually 3
It could be a medical issue 17

    Sounds like PCOS or Hypothyroidism.

    Possibly an endocrine (hormone) disorder.

Thyroid, adrenal or pituitary glands are often to blame. That's the ones I know, anyway.

That's not a lot of weight, a lot would be 40 pounds in 6 months...if you really haven't changed your diet maybe its a medication or something as simple as adding a soda per day. Or like Charli said get your bloodwork checked out.
Does it feel like water weight? That also makes a difference. Knowing if you gained fat or water weight could help you figure out why. Good luck.
