Is it normal to forget you're a real person?

Does your complete being ever get placed on autopilot, with your body seeming to no longer be there? Suddenly the activity or conversations around you become who you are, everything you are, for a long moment before there is an interruption or it happens that you finish your task and must be brought back to reality, and it is only then that you recognize your own existence.

Sorta...I drift in and out a lot whether im driving or not...Not as often as before but when I'm cruisin along the avenue I'll just be so zoned out but still paying enough attention so I don't crash, but I'll snap back into reality and it will take a few seconds to figure out where I am even though I'm somewhere that I've been a million times before.. how did i get here? Where is that large automobile? Letting the days go by....

The creepiest is when you stare into a mirror and get that same realization.
