It's normal. Some people just don't like it, either because they are uncomfortable with the intimacy or they find the act itself disgusting. I imagine it's common among germ-phobic people.
When you focus on it that way, it really is a bit disgusting.
But why fixate on that awful part of it?
During a kiss, I focus more on the sensations of it and my mind is filled with notions about it being a precursor to something more sexual. It's a turn on, and when I'm turned on, there's no room for thoughts of the ickiness of it.
Slimmy sensations are deliciously passionate. Girls are wonderful teachers of dirty feelings. Please teach me to be dirty so that it pleases you, dear.
Oh man, I love it. But I guess it's normal, not everyone likes it I suppose. That suuuucks though.
