Is it normal to find it difficult to have friends ???

well, i dont know why its hard for me to find good friends, i thought things will be different when i enter college, but its the same, everyone here consider me as their college mate not as their friends, they dont ask me to hang around with them, they just talk to me in college, i think that my personality is the problem, when i talk to someone for the first time i just dont be comfortable and end the conversation as fastest as possible, its just my personality is not very strong, any advice ??

    I have the same problem. I have a hard time making new friends because I am not good at conversations or keeping in contact. I probably wouldn't really have any friends if I didn't have my life long friends from growing up. I am shy and uncomfortable with new people. If you want friends and people you can hang out with then you'll need to open up be a little uncomfortable and just be yourself. If someone doesn't like you for you then you don't want them as a friend anyway.

    Sounds like a confidence issue. Don't get too discouraged. You might have better luck at a club or something with people that share a similar interest. All I can say is try to work on what you think are your social issues but at the same time, don't try to be someone else. Be your OWN best. Hunker down, in what makes you, you and I think you'll be leaving people with a much better impression.
