Is it normal to feel uncomfortable around my boyfriend's friends?

My boyfriends friends. Idk why it's like this. But whenever I am around them I feel so awkward and have nothif to talk about. We hve been dating for over a year and it's all his friends that I feel weird around. They are really into drugs and are older than me. But with anybody else I feel comfortable if they are older and do drugs. Is this normal to feel uncomfortable and any tips on helping me :(

    If they do drugs you might want to reconsider who you spend your time with. Just saying.

    I t doesn't matter what one's friends think about their bf/gf but it really does matter what a gf/bf thinks about one's friends.

    yeah i didnt feel comfortable around my bfs friends til like a year ago and we were all even friends when we met. they are into drugs im not, i think its generally just really different than hanging out with girls lol

    I don't care if someone is into that shit but when they do meth and heroine and Ex that's when i get worried. I don't know how to talk to someone who is on shit

    who cares if they do drugs and they're a lot older? I'm friends with a lot of different types of people and just because someone is different than me I can still strike up a conversation with just about anyone. talk about music, bring up things you can all do together. Ski in the winter, beach in the summer, sports games, concerts. Trust me: If his friends don't like you then you will never get far in the relationship. Try to relate to them on some level and make an effort to hang out with them.
