Is it normal to feel that extending the acrinyms to lbgtqia is hilarious?

Quick disclaimer: not trying to ridicule the individuals nor what label they choose to stick on their preferences, but grouping so many different viewpoints into one actually making them more "hetro" than the "straight" people?

Remember, the origin of homosexual or heterosexual stems from being comprised of "all the same gender" and the latter of "both genders". Now that "both genders" thing is actually not implied, rather "not all the same gender". (The bisexual label is more defining as that actually defines there are simply 2 sexes)

Seems to me that simple "man with a woman" sexual preference is turning out to be more of a homogeneous thing than the very complex and heterogeneous set of the "non straight".

Isn't it starting to become a farce? I admit that "we straights" (for the lack of better word) used to be the first to label the "non straights" but these days it seems like those with more complex sexual preferences are trying their hardest label themselves and make it even more confusing for them who already were probably confused to start with.

If all this sounds like almost a joke post it is probably because the whole thing itself is turning into a joke itself imho. (and I expect getting called an idiot again or whatever, but seriously, why not let everyone fuck whomever they want and lets all get along without all the labeling and the non-straight oriented people seeking a limiting identity to stick themselves into?)

Yes the acronym is becoming a farce (and I am straight) 29
Yes the acronym is becoming a farce (and I am not straight) 14
No, the acronym should grow to fit the list (and I am straight) 5

Are the gay mafia responsible for these acronyms?

You have every right to date and bang whoever you want, but I think part of the reason this shit is getting so ridiculous is all these drama club kids on tumblr trying to invent ridiculously specific sexual preferences to have the most unique one. Like if you're attracted to the same sex but your dog is in the room when you have sex more than 30% of the time that's different from just being regular gay and needs its own terminology to describe it.

Yeah it's like 'I'm not a straight male I'm a pansexual binary gender fish'

Agree, and while doing so they completely ridicule the past n? I mean, forced myself (1 time only) to view a debate which also included testimony from a long time lesbian, and what she described was insane, on how in the 70's still people were sent to mental institutions and how your life could be socially over if discovered as non-straight. Straight myself, an d not a good social caring person, but that stuff sounded FUBAR, and seeing those attention-horny wusses visually getting a high from sounding all worked up. Fucking disgusting. I blocked tumbler and pinterest and all from search results because of those suckers..

I would have thought that Queer was enough of a catch-all that they could have stopped at that point.

I just use lgbt+ since it's easier and doesn't exclude the "QQAA" part of the entire thing (as one of the As - asexual - i'd rather not be unrecognized completely but it isn't a prominent part of the movement and the acronym is hella long so idc really)

Wanted to add something but seems my Karma is currently like the Siberian average daily temperature and wasn't allowed (thanks for the down-votes people!)

I was almost expecting the QIA to be a 4chan prank or the like. Where those (what is it called again, one user wants to exterminate them, again some acronym) "looking to present themselves as uber-politically correct and defending" are tricked into getting all worked up and in their do-good crusading mode without reason.

Personally I suspect that A LOT of people who aren't "straight" are ticked of by those fools ayways. As if a homosexual person needs so much help because he or she can't fend for themselves. Might be applicable to a subset (the caricature "fairy" act), but I think most of them are pretty solid people and can fight without some heroic blog-tube-screamer getting kick of being the most ultimate PC proponent in the world.

Is part of why I made the poll.

PS: and now I run the risk of sounding like the over-PC guy, but every time I the the "straight" and "non-straight" adjectives, I cannot help feeling that REALLY is offensive. Wile fuzzy from fever and meds I asked myself "what isn't straight". I mean, english is not my mother tongue, so perhaps I lack the vocabulary, but the only answers I can think of are bent, crooked, erratic, squiggly, etc Somehow those sound a lot more offensive, but damned, what words are okay then??

I only know of the added Q. And that was silly to me. But whatever. I don't pay attention to all these frikkin labels that people bestow upon themselves.

As far as I knew, it meant queer but I looked it up to be sure and it means questioning and/or queer. That covers most of the human population I think. But what do I know, I'm just a bird.

Nowadays this is probably the type of question to start World War 3, but isn't queer the same as gay/lesbian? If it's taken as questioning... What the fuck!? I'm questioning why that even exists, so do I fall into that category!? :o To me, LGBT has turned into an umbrella acronym to unite anyone with even a hint of a question about their sexuality into some group who needs to stand together! etc. etc.

I don't think it's as simple as straight or gay - it's more of a scale. I mean, I'm straight as an arrow but who wouldn't suck Matt Bomer's dick, yaknow!?

Mind you, I'm not qualified to weigh in on this being just a simple moogle! This was just your everyday conversation between birds and moogles, kupo! *o*

That's what I thought too. I guess every special snowflake needs a different term to describe it even though they are all pretty similar. Gotta maintain that uniqueness and all...

People are putting waaayyyy too much emphasis on their sexuality, or lack thereof, these days and it's super annoying. I don't give a rats hat what someone identifies as, I don't get why they feel the need to tell the world.

And don't even get me started on the 'kin' folk and the waifu whateverthefuck people, bronies,.... ugh!! When will it ever end?!?!

Hehe, I had to Google moogle. For shoogle my noogle.

You've hit the nail on the head birdy, every special snowflake needs their reassurance in being unique and misunderstood!

I imagine at LGBTQABCDE... meet-ups that the first thing they say to each other is "my name's Uniquesha and I identify as bi" or something along those lines. Saying you don't give a rats hat is rather light by Scottish terms - I'd say something more along the lines of "fuck off, ya raging twat..." But maybe that's just me.

Jeez, honestly I thought the waifu and brony thing was just a joke. I never knew there were actually people like that! I knew furries existed and that was bad enough but for fucks sake. The world is a pretty fucked place.

Also, you had to google moogle!? A chocobo like you hasn't ever seen a moogle!?

Disclaimer: Sorry if some of this is waffled babble, I'm pretty fucked up from anaesthesia right now and can't proofread.
