Is it normal to feel so free after a break up with someone you really love?

I was devastated when my girlfriend said she was not happy and wanted to break up. I really love her and thought we were on the path to marriage.

I did have some infatuations with other women when we were together, and do admit I treated her badly in public whenever I was around a woman I was attracted to. She would call me on it. When I repeated the behavior, she started to get more and more angry. It got to the point we couldn't go out.

Now we are broken up, I am free to be with whoever I want, and I am loving it! Is this normal? Should I feel more remorse?

You treated her like shit and wondered why she was unhappy? I'm glad she dumped you.

she was probably keeping you from other things, and the only way you could get back at her was to want to be with someone else, she wasnt secure enough and left you. you could be happy because you dodged a bullet, or happy because you dont have a controlling gf anymore.

I have this theory that people are not actually meant to live in pairs. The idea of coupling seems very artificial. That is why people are happier on their own, even if they love each other.

    So, I voted normal.
