Is it normal to feel sad when thinking about my country?

Well, I'm from Argentina and i've always had this feeling, like getting depressed when thinking about where i live, don't get me wrong, i like my country, i love it but somehow i feel like my country doesn't mean shit to the rest of the world (except in football aka soccer maybe). Like when someone is a nice , shy person but doesn't get attention. Anyways it may seem a childish point but it's just what i feel
ps: i know argentina is not on it's best times, but it could be worst I guess

I understand exactly how you feel. In the last 60 years I have watched my country go from a respected world partner to a bully with no care for it's own or any other people on earth, if there is no financial incentive.
Be it Africans dying of Ebola or Syrian children dying in the revolution, the US will not lift a hand to help if it won't bring the elite rich some reward.
The fact that a literal moron like Dubya could be elected as president, not once, but twice, still has the world laughing at the stupidity of the American people. They see us as a nation with no self respect.
As a child, growing up in SF, we didn't lock our doors and a stroll down any street in this country was not an invitation for someone to mug us.
I am ashamed to be an American and when asked where I come from while traveling, I often avoid the answer and just say, "That boat out there at anchor."

Every single country on this damn planet has issues we must resolve so your country is not alone.

Your country is known for football? Well mine is known for sheep shagging.

Speaking of sheep... I must make my way and "tenderise" a couple of them for export to the world.

      What I know about NZ:
      Gorgeous scenery
      All Blacks rugby team
      Black Caps cricket team
Nice/humble people (from the few I've come across)
The Lord of the Rings movies

      And now sheep shagging

I am from South America and lived in Argentina for a few years. I kind of understand the feeling. However, for me it was a sense of isolation. I feel like South America is really disconnected from the rest of the world. It surprises me a little though that you are from Argentina, because I would say that it is one of the (if not THE) most international countries in the region.

I live here in the USA, and I must tell you, even WE have issues. Right now, we are dealing with an OUT-OF-CONTROL Federal Deficit and Police Brutality. Also, we have issues overseas with those terrorist members of ISIS (Islamic State). On top of that, Unemployment is still looming everywhere at every company around the World - especially as industrial automation ( http://www.youtube.com/user/malestrom ) begins to take hold, and we also have a health care crisis too, for both our Beloved Military Personnel and our Civilians as well.
