Is it normal to feel physically turned off by the guy i am dating?

I am dating this guy for his intelligence. However, he is 5ft 9 tall and weighs 120 lbs. He's balding, has an unattractive face, wears weird ill fitting clothes and smells (poor hygiene). He keeps trying to get me to go to his apartment on a date presumably to have sex but the thought of getting physical with him makes me want to vomit. I am an attractive woman of a normal size and I have never dated a physically unattractive guy before. Is it shallow to find him repulsive?

Why are you dating him to begin with? You don't have to be in a relationship with him to have a taste of his intelligent companionship. Just be friends.

I didn't realise how ugly he was at first

End the relationship, and just be his friend if possible.

I suppose he has a great personality, right?

I know this post is 8 months old but I just had to comment. It is clear that you only dated that guy to appear less shallow (you are shallow) and/or believing that you are also intellectual (which you're not) I suggest dating guys on your level like meatheads and jock straps.

Tell him you are not compatible, and leave him. You shouldn't try and make yourself like him. You should either like him, or not! Don't force it
