Is it normal to feel panicking and unable to feel nerves when smoking weed?

Please don't give me the same old "don't smoke weed, smokings bad" bullshit. I don't smoke anymore and you're not helping by giving me a lecture on drugs. I simply want to know what happened.

So it started with the first time I smoked marijuana. I took a couple hits off two joints and my vision got really blurry, my heart started beating faster, I couldn't feel my fingers or teeth (which really, really freaked me out) and I started to panic like crazy. I'm pretty sure it wasn't laced because my other friends were 100% fine. I started getting really drowsy and I had to put my head between my legs to get oxygen and stop myself from passing out. I was also apparently getting very pale.

Now a couple weeks later, which was the second time. I did it by myself because I was curious about if it was laced the first time or not. I got the same outcome as the first time but it wasn't as bad. I came prepared thankfully, and I just went to my bed and passed out watching TV.

Why did this happen? Is it normal for some kids?

Yes, marijuana sometimes triggers panic attacks in some people. If you enjoy them, smoke away. If you, like most don't enjoy feelings of anxiety or panic then I suggest you quit.

  • Normal but this is still the reason i quit. I know the feeling and it can be terrifying. Once i couldnt walk or feel my legs and it felt like i was falling into the earth through the couch.. It happens when you arent used to the THC and too much gets to your brain at once.

I used to have that happen to me after I went through a hard stressful time in my life. Everytime I'd smoke I felt like I was gonna have a heart attack. I knew it was bullshit but the feeling was there. I personally think weed or any other hallucinogen really shows you how you feel inside. It takes down those barriers in your mind. Just face the fear and you'll be good friend!!

If you're buying illegal pot I'm going to have to say the same old stuff you're used to hearing. Most likely your cannabis doesn't have enough cannabidiol (CBD) which is needed to level you out. It helps mitigate the angst and is very medicinal in many ways.

Sounds like some sort of an anxiety disorder. I know people with same problem. Most had to quit smoking, because everytime they did smoke they had an anxiety attack.

Ok, I am sorry, but smoking weed is bad and you shouldn't smoke it. Also, you could be allergic to it, or have reactions to it, although I have never smoked weed, HAPPY PINEAPPLE DAY THOUGH!!!

But weed itself isn't bad. You don't have to smoke the cannabis itself to get the same reaction from your body, as you can eat it in a brownie or some other type of edible. Using cannabis in a smoking pipe isn't too harmful either, it basically gets the main components to your brain faster. But i would agree that he could have had an allergic reaction, or he may have used too much cannabis for a first-timer or second-timer.
