Is it normal to feel mad at myself that women are so easily offended

I was a good friend of a woman online. She was 23 years old and very attractive. Today she posted a photo of her posing in a bikini with a hat and smiling on a boat in the middle of a lake. Lots of guys left comments like "nice smile baby". She responded back to them by leaving smilies and hearts. I wanted to write something different and I wrote "lol i dont think many guys are looking at your smile tbh...but i agree nice smile and im not kidding this time :))"

After that she blocked me from posting on her wall ever again. She also blocked me from sending her personal messages. I thought my comment was relatively harmless and in good fun. I was just joking and referring to the fact that she has amazing breasts and they looked great in her bikini.

Now she won't talk to me anymore, even after I said I was kidding.
I know this is all my fault but I can't help but feel that too many women are just so easily offended. She was a good friend too and I enjoyed talking to her.
This sucks I just wanna cry :((

To put it in perspective, what she probably read was; "Yeah, most guys aren't looking at your face, but nice tits you got there." Keepin' it classy.

Yeah kinda not appropriate. She was probably embarrassed that you made that comment. Her family are probably on her fb and would have seen, too.

Not talking at all is a little childish, but you did act like a twat.

On a different note, why is your title generalizing that ALL women get offended easily? That's a rather ignorant statement.

Have you ever considered that maybe, just possibly, it was a demeaning comment and that's why she had a problem with it?

It was a compliment? So you can just tell girls they have nice tits all day long and they're not supposed to feel weirded out by that? What the heck?

Honestly, I feel that if a girl is willing to post herself online like that then she should expect those kinds of remarks. Yes people post themselves from trips to the beach all the time but reality says that you're still going to be visually revealing and that will easily attract eyes. Just because someone points that out doesn't mean that suddenly they are completely wrong, own up to your actions at least.
If she found this offensive, as some people don't like things like that justifiably, then she could have simply removed the comment and calmly mentioned to the OP about how she doesn't like things like that and kept cool about it. I think that is the mature way of handling it instead of "Oh god, a guy responded in a bold way after I boldly posted myself in a bikini, must insta-block irrationally with no explanation". People who do that aren't worth crying over.

I'm not one to post photos of myself at all, let alone ones that show a lit of skin, but just because someone hapoens to be wearing a bikini in a photo doesn't mean they are asking for that kind of attention.

You're definitely right, posting pictures like that doesn't mean they are asking for it, one could just want to share a good time they had, that is harmless. What I am saying though is that posting a visually attractive picture will get positive remarks on how they look, that is just how things work and I don't think anyone can disagree with that at least. Not that people should step out of line but I feel there are better ways to handle a small comment like that than instantly blocking someone and jumping the gun.

"They're looking at your tits"is more creepy than positive...

Totally agree with your last point, though.

How about we let women and men wear what they want, without them having to worry about the consequences? That sounds like a brilliant idea.

Not every social encounter is going to go well honestly I wouldn't worry about it.

What gets to me is that you want to cry about it. This tells me you need to expand your social circle. People are easy come, easy go don't get so emotionally attached. Work on making a large circle of friends so that one getting annoyed with you isn't worrisome to you.

"Your picture is nothing special (except for your boobs), but I'll go with the consensus and say you have a nice smile."

That's how I interpreted your comment.

Think before you post! What she did isn't cool, yet you're almost no better for posting an inappropriate comment that everyone can see. There is a time for everything; you can't always joke around.

You were supposed to say, "I wish I looked fabulous like you." People with poorly developed egos are insulted by anything less gratifying.

Well ... she took it as offensive.
She apparently got a nice pair of tits and if she posts pictures of them squeezed up in a bikini what the fudge does she expect?

I don't really side with anyone who posts themselves half naked in a bikini on fb and then gets prissy when someone states the obvious.
Really I think women should stop wearing bikinis if they're gonna whine about someone noticing that they're WANDERING AROUND IN WATERPROOF UNDERWEAR OUTSIDE. If you don't wear undies and a bra to by milk, put on some swimming trunks at the beach. They make lovely tops, too.
