Hi all.

I am 23 male uk unfortunatly my friend lets call him James says I have a condition where I cannot be cool and too emotional. I find it very hard to play hard to get or wait before texting the girl things like that. I also searched online and articles its the same thing if you want a girl to be crazy about you so my friend is not lieing but frustrates me. I want to do and say nice things for her or just talk and spend time together and do how I feel. My ex gf who was the first girl she was nice I asked her if she wanted to go iceskating first date and we went had a great time but my best friend he has lots more experience with girls told me ti was a mistake and keep it cool and dont be too much or the girls will run away or expect more cause I did so much at first. He also says dont give your girl too much attention or make her feel like she's your favourite and dont reply to every text of hers. My gf from before she didnt run away she moved 6 hours drive away and we decided to become mates.

Now after 2 years of no one I met this girl lets call her Becca I am spending time with Becca and it frustrates me James says I have to wait before calling or seeing her again if I want her to really like me. So far we are not a couple not even kissed but holding hands yes. I really like her and like spending time with her I am not saying Im in love with her but this valentines I want to go to the park with her or maybe rent a boat ride or a picnic if I dont get it why do I have to stop myself cause it is only been 2 weeks witj her. I'm sorry that this is a ramble but this makes me so mad right why cant I just feel honestly without worrying I will push her away

    Two things every girl likes, attention and compliments. The boat ride or picnic sound like a good idea, don't fucking ignore her or you might lose whatever you have already got with her.

    James is an idiot. Women love flowers and affection. I'm married, never missed an anniversary and get so much sex my willy cries for help. I never let her open doors, pull out her own chair, walk on the wrong side of the footpath, etc. In
    Women love to feel desired, wanted and appreciated. Even the most hard-headed feminist goes weak at the knees, blushes like a scarlet carnation and gushes if you buy her roses and chocolate.

    I 'think' this James guy (and by the way you could have called him by his real name it wouldn't have made any difference whatsoever), may be trying to stop you from being head over heals, madly in love with a girl (or any girl) that you just meet.

    It could easily be seen as way too much by meeting a girl 2 weeks ago, and only at hand holding stage, to then state you love her as a valentine already!

    The Valentine's Day idea is STILL good, but more in a friendly way. Just take one step at a time. ;)
