Is it normal to feel embarrassed at my office because i cant tie a knot?

I got my new job as a training officer in a bank a month ago and had a very embarrassing moment in my office today. Ever since childhood I could never tie knots, I always wore knotless shoes. My parents taught me over and over again, but I just couldnt do it, and had no idea it will impact my future career one day. I was supposed to tie some important documents to a file with the ribbon. When my colleagues saw I cant even tie a knot they laughed. Ofcourse they showed me, but that like always was no use I still cant do it, and it feels embarrassing to ask your colleagues to tie a simple knot for you. On the other hand everyone appreciates my overall performance, and my boss promised me a promotion real soon.

Shouldn't be that difficult to learn.

It's normal to be embarrassed by that I suppose, but it's very weird you can't do it. Do you have any other difficulties related to manipulating 3-dimensional objects? I guess it might be possible to have a real disability with that kind of thing...

But it seems more likely you've just convinced yourself you can't do it and too nervous to learn. My suggestion is to get a book (or website) on tying knots and practice on your own without the social pressure.
