I have an issue with talking about sex either over the phone or online. Although I can perform real well in the bedroom, I find the whole phone sex, the gestures, and just explaining what I want to do to somebody and have them explain what they want to do to me rather awkward! Today I was on the phone with someone and all they wanted to do was have phone sex! Even though I was uncomfortable and squirmed a bit as I was on the phone, I gave in to the nasty talking! My skin felt as though it was crawling and all I wanted to do was pull my hair out! Is it normal to feel this way? Am I the only one who hates to have phone sex or at least feel uncomfortable doing so? How can I change the subject without upsetting them?

    I understand it can be embarrassing. I've been embarrassed by it at times. The way I see it, though, is just as sharing a fantasy about what you want to happen. You have the fantasy in your head, you just need the bravery to share it.

    If it's really not your thing, though, you'll have to say you don't like it. After all, you wouldn't accommodate everything someone wants in the bedroom. Some things are not for everyone.

      Yes, it can be very embarrassing and I just want to run and hide when ever that subject is approached online or over the phone. It should come easy since I'd be sharing with someone I care about, however, it doesn't! I'll break down this wall I have up one of these days.

      I know, I really should speak up, but I don't want to hurt the other person especially if they find it enjoyable! You're right though, I will have to say something...because I know my limit in the bedroom and I don't accommodate everything when having sex so I should be able to speak my peace over the phone as well. UGH!

    I think phone sex, sexting, or online sex should be called Imagination Sex. Because it's two people sharing what they imagine doing to one another when they are physically together. If you talk about it someone is bound to get turned on and want to cum.

    Did you grow up in a household where talking about sex was a no-no? That could be why you find it so awkward and uncomfortable.

      You're right, it is imagination sex! I just wish I could engage in it all. Yeah, my family didn't bring up the topic of sex...so I guess that's why I feel so awkward talking about it!

        Well, that's good that it stems from how your family dealt with talking about it because it means that it's something that you can easily get past with a bit of practice. Next time, try having an alcoholic beverage or two before hand and see if it helps open you up a little. You are also lucky that your partner is so willing, that should make it easier too.
