    You are at a significant disadvantage in the water in terms of mobility, and if you specifically have an issue with deep water, I would view that as similar to a fear of the dark (which is quite common). Not that it is likely that anything down there is planning to harm you, but it's understandable to fear the possibility or to fear the unknown.

    Me too :/ Swimming pools make me nervous and I stay away from them. Rivers or the ocean are completely no go. Anywhere you can't see your feet...*shudders*
