Is it normal to fantasize about having a relationship with an android?

I'm not talking about sex. I mean, imagine if they looked just like us (if you're into that, otherwise they could look like whatever you want), and could respond deeply to all the questions we could ask them, but they couldn't do any of the really nasty things we tend to do to each other often once a relationship ages: sabotage one another, neglect each other, disrespect one another, cheat each other financially, emotionally, sexually... Most of that stuff has never happened to me, but I listen to people talk about how experiencing those things repeatedly can ruin them. I think it would be terrific to enjoy the companionship of a super-bright AI that couldn't or wouldn't act purposely to hurt us.

Anyone else ever think about having a non-human companion you don't have to clean up after?

    That would be so cool!!!

    Maybe not this generation but in the next couple for sure, androids will be lovers of humans for sure.

        This might be a problem for married folk like me...surely the wife will not want me to have an Android to screw everyday.

        Because I would screw it as soon as I got home from work, as soon as I wake up in the morning and probably even during the night when I get up to pee. I'd probably wear my dick out...

          Dude, that's hilarious. But I can see how that might be a problem in a human-human relationship. On the flip-side, do you think some people would choose not even to get married if the machines were physically indistinguishable from us, and even responded emotionally like we humans do, but couldn't act to harm us?

            If I were single and they had Androids that could screw I'd be all in and have little reason to get married. If they could suck cock and looked human!! I would never give real women the time of day. An Android like that would have all of the desirable trates of a woman like sex and none of the drawbacks.

    Seems like that would take all the excitement out of a relationship. But what am I saying I sabotage every relationship I get into.

    Yeah, one of my favourite books is "City of Glass" (I think published as He She & It in the usa for some weird reason) by Marge Piercy which includes a relationship between a woman and an android who's been programmed (among other things) to be a good lover and relationship partner.
