Is it normal to eat chips and have a sore tongue?

It doesn't happen all the time but when I eat some chips my tongue gets sore afterwards. It's not burning, itchy, blistering, flaky, bloody whatsoever. My tongue just gets sore in some certain spots. When I just ate lays chips it got sore in the back etc. It's one certain spot and when I put pressure on it, it gets even more tender. It goes away after 10-30 minutes. I don't think it's an allergic. I'm thinking because of the excessive salt but I don't know...

Once I ate two bags of salt & vinegar flavoured crackers in two days and it caused my tongue to peel. It was gross and cool at the same time lol.

It's probably from the salt like you said
