I tend to like chatting with people around the world, but I feel it I'm more attracted to girls on the internet than those of real life, even thou knowing so little about the girls on the internet. I usually meet them through games, and some forums. I'm a 19 years old dude, average looking, thou a little bit ugly.
I think it is not all your fault. People in the internet tend to alter their personality just to be liked by others. People in person, cant do that in just a snap and they will show you who they really are, no edits or deletes in the conversation
I don't think this is normal at all. I thought most people would need a physical connection and/or romantic chemistry to be attracted to someone. Personally, I can't be attracted to text. In fact, I find it hard keeping up even long-distance friendships with people I've never met IRL. I'm pretty affectionate though.
Are you sure you're unattracted to these girls in real life? Maybe it's just your low self-confidence that makes you intimidated by them. I mean, you called yourself "a little bit ugly". Maybe you'd argue that you're being realistic, but "ugly" is a harsh word that most confident, but self-aware unattractive people probably wouldn't use in reference to themselves.
Good point, you are right about my self-confidence and I am intimidated. You're also right, I shouldn't call myself ugly, but I feel like I'm much less attractive than other guys in my age.
When I chat I always exchange photos if it's not a social network already, so it's not only text.
You have to open yourself up to the real magic of falling for someone. It's not gonna happen online. Maybe you've found something that excites you now, but trust me, if you open up to real life relationships, you'll never look back.
I've only dated guys that I have met through the internet! Just had to say that. (People who lives close enough for me to meet them at least every weekend)
I fear that in an real life relationships we get to know each other way too quickly and loose interest... And I have tried believe me :S
As I replied to Koda: You CAN talk to girls that lives a bit closer to you. Start random conversations with people on Facebook as one example. This way you can have it on-line but meet up when you are ready. Just be safe and certain that it's a girl you are talking to.
