Is it normal to drink decaffeinated coffee?

I've always thought of decaf drinkers as freaks. Well I decided to switch to decaf last month and after a couple of days of mild depression and lethargy, I felt fine. I still need hot coffee-flavored water in the morning to feel 'adjusted.' I don't know why. There's 3% caffeine in decaf but I doubt that has any effect.

Many people drink decaf or it wouldn't be so available everywhere.
