Is it normal to dream of solitude

I am a loner. I thrive on being alone and look forward to moments of solitude. I would like friends but it's currently not a priority. Generally I feel more lonely amongst others. I'm really starting to wonder if there's something wrong with me.

I dunno if I thrive per se, but I often times feel like I don't fit in so lately I tend to see time with others, depending on who they are of course, as a potential waste.

I have had far too little solitude in my life. Now, I have lots of it. It contains emptiness, it lacks the healthiness of sociability, but it's wonderful.

    • I agree. It's drummed into you, at least in my experience, that it's abnormal, but I broke away from people who I felt weren't making me happy, and ended up being alone. It took some getting used to, but I realised that I felt - and continue to feel - better. Certainly emptiness is an occasional phase, but it's not something I would be entirely without despite having company. I think it originates from within.
Edit - I just noticed that you are an INTJ; I consider myself an INTP, which is perhaps of significance.

Yes. Extroverts couldn't handle the isolation. IIN is a good way to stay connected to people.
