Even if it's only a 45 minute nap? Sometimes I even have very vivid dreams.
I have heard before that people with great imagination dream almost every time they are asleep.
You are do lucky. Clearly, you've been doing something right. I rarely remember my dreams, unless, they are presumably of importance.
That's REM sleep for you.
Usually you don't move into REM sleep until around 60-90 minutes in, but this can happen sooner if you're particularly tired, especially if you're sleep deprived. Of course, a central feature of REM sleep is dreaming.
Supposedly, an ideal nap is one that features plenty of REM, but ends before you move into the deeper phases of sleep. There's evidence to suggest REM sleep is the most important phase of the sleep cycle for our mental/physical wellbeing.
So it's good if you're having plenty of vivid dreams and waking up before you 'fall' too deeply. Ideal nap.
