Is it normal to don't give opinions even if one wants to?

Well, the title says it all.

Everytime that someone starts a discussion in my personal surroundings, or even in this site, I want to give an opinion or comment something about the subject being discussed but, for a reason that escapes my understanding, something doesn't let me do it. I click on a post to opine about it, but then my thoughts have a sudden and radical change and after some seconds I find myself erasing all that I wrote. I find myself totally blocked. I don't want to sound dramatic. Sorry if that's the impression given in this post.

    I have things to say but I just can't translate it into text. Because, I cant, like, make my hand gestures through the screen, and like, um, wait, I just can't always transfer the bird into the written word.

    I'm a bit of a smart ass, at least on this site. I say something about everything without any real qualification. But hey, you don't need to have the perfect opinion, because the OP can read all the answers and pick for himself. If you're not a troll, I'm sure whoever posed the question will be glad you took the time to reply.

    Maybe you're uncertain whether you're competent enough to have an opinion about something. You might have an opinion about something, but hold yourself back from saying it because you haven't looked at the problem from every angle.

    I think that's a good character trait to have. I prefer people who are like this over people who act like know-it-alls on subjects they only have a dilettante interest in.

    Or you could just be scared of judgement, but I doubt that's the case if it carries over to online as well. Normally people feel at liberty to say whatever they want on the internet if they have no real identity attached to their post.
