Is it normal to dislike things about myself that i like in others?

Examples-
I'm pretty overweight,i don't like it and I'm trying to fix it, but I think a chubby girl friend of about the same weight would be really nice and i'd like to have one.
I'm taller and I think it makes me look less cute (I'm a girl) but I think tall girls are really pretty.
I dislike having so little control over myself when it comes to laughing or crying, but I think with other people it's really attractive.
Do you guys have similar problems? Can I stop doing that?

there's always someone who's gonna be prettier than you, smarter than you or younger than you but they can't be you.

I hate my natural hair color, it's fine on other people, but I hate it on me.

Normal and you *can* stop! Self-acceptance is the answer - it's just really hard to achieve. It's taken me yeeeeeeeaaaars to believe what I was given to work with is in fact pretty okay. It saddens me that people, mainly women, are forced into not being happy with what they are. I don't mean to sound like "the voice of experience" but my outlook on life has changed so much when I finally understood (not just intellectually but felt it) that no matter what we're blessed or cursed with, we're great.
