Is it normal to desperately wish to be an invalid??

when I was small I had a couple of videos of fairy tales and masses of books of same, and listened to tons of trad.

The women tended to swoon, faint and need a man to fix their problems and basically at their beck and call, reassuring them every 5 secs (“it is all right my darling; alas; do not weep....”) as they go as pale as death. I am halfway there because I'm both disabled and naturally pale, and sometimes talk about things not being “proper” (my friend does this too, it's good to know there's someone else who does this), which makes all my flatmates extract the you-know-what.

but I feel a bit guilty, because disabled people are meant to want to do a lot more than I do, and writing, as I have loved to do since i was a child, (now in early 30s) isn't that great. iin??

I don't get it at all. What's the difference between being disabled and an invalid other than once you are an invalid you can't do things for yourself? And THAT appeals to you?
