Is it normal to create situations in my head, what's this called?

I tend to create situations in my head that never happen. I convince myself that they are real, but they never actually happen. Is this called something?

i do this all the time. i think of a situation that would almost never happen and think of all possible outcomes and other situations that could branch off of the initial situation.

Its called fantasy and if you start to believe your fantasies, its called delusions. Its normal to fantasize, but its abnormal if you think they will manifest themselves by simply believing they will, you have to do something about it. The good news is that if you direct your actions towards something you have faith in, you are very likely to succeed in making them true, good or bad.

Very true. But to a certain extent:it really depends on wether the person has the efficient willpower(I hope thats the right word) to destinguish between what is real-or true-and what is not. In other words, it all rests on one factor:wether he or she can effectively cope with these feelings and be able to tell themselves "no these thoughts are all in my head" without having a serious sense of doubt.
