Is it normal to constantly dream about a girl i've not talked to in years

I met this girl in high-school about 7 years ago, she had a boyfriend (a guy I was friend with since we were 5 years old) so I didn't try to make a move on her and it's probably way too late now.
After graduation we gradually talked less until about 2 years ago I have not talked to her at all, besides a short "happy birthday" message.

However this last two months I've been thinking about her a lot for no reason at all, I dream about her almost every night and I'm sick of it. I've actually considered calling her out of the blue so she can reject me to make it stop.

is this normal?

    I often dream about people I went to school with, old friends who I haven't talked to in years. It gets especially bad around this time of year when school starts, and sometimes around holidays. I rarely ever think about these people in my waking life, so I don't know why my unconscious mind still places importance on them.

    Something similar happened to me about a girl who I haven’t seen in 4 years, and didn’t stop dreaming about for a couple of months.

    It’s perfectly normal, maybe you miss this girl, maybe you just having thosd dreams cos your lonely or sexually frustrated

    I had an odd dream last night about a girl I used to know. It was about her younger sister really, but still it was odd.

    I think it's probably normal though. Especially if you're single or lonely.
